How to make your resume pass ATS and impress a recruiter
- Keep one column, standard headings (Summary, Skills, Experience, Projects, Education) and no tables, icons or photos.
- Use the exact skill names from the job description, but only for skills you can discuss in an interview.
- Write each achievement as action, result and number: "Cut report time from 4 hours to 20 minutes with Python".
- Write like a person: plain words, commas instead of dashes, no buzzwords like "results driven" or "synergy".
- Download a text based PDF (not a scan) or a Word file, and keep it to 1 page under 5 years of experience.
