What is Precision?Precision kya hai?

🧸 Think of it likeAise samjho

When the smoke alarm rings, how often is there really a fire? High precision means few false alarms.Jab smoke alarm bajta hai, kitni baar sach mein aag hoti hai? High precision matlab kam jhoothe alarm.

📘 ExplainedVistaar se

Precision = true positives ÷ (true positives + false positives). High precision means few false alarms, which matters when false alarms are costly, like blocking genuine payments or sending real emails to spam. Raising the threshold usually increases precision and lowers recall.Precision = true positives ÷ (true positives + false positives). High precision matlab kam false alarms, jo tab zaroori hai jab false alarm mehenga ho, jaise asli payments block karna ya asli emails spam mein daalna. Threshold badhaane se aam taur pe precision badhti aur recall ghatta hai.

💡 Real exampleAsli example

The model flags 20 payments; 8 are real fraud, so precision is 40%.Model 20 payments flag karta hai; 8 asli fraud hain, to precision 40%.
